Kazakhstan citizens enjoy a visa-free regime with the UAE — up to 30 days. It is convenient: buy a ticket, book a hotel, fly. But there are nuances worth knowing in advance.
At the border
At passport control you are usually asked about the purpose of the trip, your place of stay and a return ticket. Sometimes they ask to see a hotel booking. Better to have a printout or one open on your phone.
Extension and overstaying
The 30 days count from the date of entry. If you need to stay longer, you can extend through the migration service, but it is usually simpler to arrange a visa in advance. Overstaying means fines for every day.
Differences between the emirates
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and others are one federation, but rules differ inside it. For example, Sharjah has stricter norms on alcohol and dress. Dubai is more relaxed.
Work and long stays
The visa-free regime is for tourism and short visits only. For work, study or long-term residence you need the relevant visa or a residence permit. It is arranged by an employer or through programmes such as the Golden Visa.
Funds on entry
Formally there is no minimum-amount requirement, but in practice an officer may ask about your funds. Cash plus cards is usually enough.
Border-crossing rules can change. Verify with the official GDRFA website or the UAE embassy.
